Singing along to our favourite song is always fun, but sometimes you don’t know the lyrics to the song. So what would you normally do? Open a website that has the lyrics!

Well, all of that long process is about to change for YouTube Music subscribers on Android devices, because in the latest update to the app, Google has enabled lyrics for YouTube Music.

Users can access the lyrics by tapping the information icon on the left of a song’s name. This is the panel that shows the view and like counts, but now, it will also show a lyrics section. However, it should be noted that not all videos will have lyrics, and if they don’t, Google will note it as such.

We’re not sure what percentage of songs will not have lyrics, but we imagine that the more popular songs should be covered, which should help save users time from having to try and find the lyrics themselves, manually.

Also, YouTube Music’s lyrics feature isn’t new as plenty of other streaming apps such as Apple Music, Boomplay and Spotify offer up lyrics as well, but it’s good to see that YouTube Music is now catching up to the competition in terms of features.
