A representative from the family of Late Inspector Mark Ediale who was murdered by soldiers in Taraba State has said anything short of justice in the outcome of the investigation surrounding Mark’s death will amount to conspiracy on the part of the Nigerian Army who performed the act.
Andrew Ediale who spoke on behalf of the family to some newsmen in Abuja yesterday,14th August, demanded an independent investigation concerning the murder.
“We the family of the deceased, demand justice to the full extent of the law. Anything short of this is a mockery of our democracy and the laws of the land.” He said.
Andrew noted that the press conference was solely to attract the attention of international bodies, well-meaning Nigerians and the international community to the gruesome murder and inglorious killing of Inspector Ediale in the course of his official duties.
“We vehemently, speak against the perpetrators of this heinous act, the operatives which are the Nigerian Army and we demand a very thorough investigation not only by the Nigerian community but the international and an independent body as well so that justice should be truly served”. He noted.
Andrew demanded to know who the soldiers are working for? Whose side they are on? whose payroll? And why the kingpin kidnapper was released.
Recall that on August 6, some policemen who were on their way transporting a kidnap kingpin, Alhaji Hamish, to the command headquarters in Jalingo, Taraba State were attacked by the army. In the process, the army killed three police operatives, one of whom was the Late Ediale, and set Hamish free.
