Commercial drivers in Kaduna state have since Saturday, the 3rd of August blocked the Abuja-Kaduna express road to protest the killing of their colleague who was allegedly shot by Policemen.
In the early hours of Friday, August 2nd, a bus driver was allegedly shot dead close to Plan Animal Feeds factory while he was traveling to Kaduna from Abuja.
Aggrieved by his death, fellow commercial drivers who were there at the time of the incident used their vehicles to barricade the road.
Meanwhile, Yakubu Sabo, Kaduna state police spokesman, has not made any comment regarding the mishap but the state commissioner for internal security, Samuel Aruwan, however, told motorists that the matter was currently under investigation.
Aruwan via his Facebook account said, “Kaduna-Abuja Road gridlock around Olam Company…We are working and the road will be cleared in a jiffy.”
