Nigeria Visa Policy (NVP) for 2020 has been officially appended by President Muhammadu Buhari, who also presented the document today, February 4, at the State House in Abuja.
The 2020 NVP policy is geared towards attracting innovation, specialized skills and knowledge from various developed countries to adjunct local ones.
Although the document presented was an abridged version, part of its agenda also included an increase in business opportunities and achieving African unity via the visas on arrival for holders of passports of African Union countries.
Among the 79 visa classifications in the 2020 NVP, Visa on arrival was included.
Recall that in November 2019, President Buhari announced that a new policy of visas on arrival would be granted to all African travellers starting from January 2020.
It will favour Africans with valid passport who voyage Nigeria for businesses, tourism and short visits. It allows them legal stay for up to 90 days.
