President Muhammadu Buhari has sent his condolence message to the citizens of Zimbabwe over the death of Robert Mugabe, their founding father and former President, who passed away at the early hours of Friday morning.
In a statement released by Mr. Femi Adesina, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Buhari sympathized with family members, friends and political associates of the late Mugabe, who died at 95.
President Buhari acknowledged Mugabe’s long era in public office and his relentless struggle for the independence of Zimbabwe from colonial masters.
According to Buhari, Mugabe’s fight for the political and economic freedom of his people will never be forgotten.
He, however, concluded by praying that the Almighty God grants the late ex-president rest and equally console his loved ones.
