African Unite Concert: South African Law Maker guarantees Burna Boy’s safety despite disagreements

Ahead of the African Unite Concert which is scheduled to hold on November 24, South African’s opposition politician, Julius Malema has guaranteed Nigeria’s afrobeat star, Burna Boy that he will be safe all through his stay in their country.

This comes several days after Musicians and event organizers in South Africa kicked against Burna Boy headlining the much-anticipated concert.

South-Africans have been unhappy with the artist ever since he promised never to step foot in their country again after a heated xenophobic attack that occurred two months ago claimed several lives and properties.

Getting the news that Burna was scheduled to headline the Concert, South-Africans have demanded an apology from him or else he wouldn’t be granted entry to their country.

Amid the disagreement, Malema through his twitter handle has said that he is looking forward to Burna’s performance adding that “no mascot” will disrupt his performance.

Malema tweeted, “Looking forward to receiving and being entertained by my brother @burnaboy here at his home called South Africa. There’s no mascot that can stop him from performing, he’s one of our own and we will protect him. We must resolutely oppose regionalism led by political illiterates.”
