Back in 2018, Adobe announced that they would be bringing a more robust version of Photoshop to the iPad. The good news is that if you love the idea of a more powerful photo and image editing app for your tablet, then you will be pleased to learn that Adobe Photoshop for iPad has been officially launched.
However, before you get too excited, it is worthy to note that Photoshop for the iPad isn’t 100% complete yet. This is because while most of the basic functions and tools are available, Adobe noted that not all features will be available at launch but will be added over time.
According to Adobe:
“This is the beginning. The first version of Photoshop on iPad is focused on compositing, basic retouching, and masking, common tasks and workflows that we know will be useful for most Photoshop users. Over time, we’ll add more capabilities and workflows as we learn more about how customers use Photoshop on a mobile device.”
In terms of pricing, users will need a subscription to at least one of Adobe’s services in order to use the app. If you already have a Creative Cloud subscription, then you can go ahead and use Photoshop on the iPad for free. Alternatively, if you can’t afford or don’t want to pay for Creative Cloud, the $9.99 Photography plan will be a cheaper option.
