2Baba, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Others Win Big At AFRIMA 2019

Nigerian music legend, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba alongside Nigeria’s 2020 Grammy nominee, Burna Boy and other notable Nigerian artists emerged big winners at the 6th All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) held on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at the Eko Convention Centre of Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.

The event which rewards African artistes in various music genres and forms saw 2Baba and Congolese music icon, Awilo Longomba, pick up the AFRIMA 2019 legendary award while Burna Boy’s ‘African Giant’ won the Album of the Year. The self-acclaimed ‘African Giant’ also won the Best Male Artiste in Western Africa for his song “Ye”.

Similarly, Wizkid’s song – Fever – featuring Tiwa Savage, won the Song of the Year while Tiwa Savage won the Best Female Artiste in Western Africa for her song “One”.

On the international scene, South African rapper, Nasty C won the awards of Best African Collaboration and Best African Lyricist while 17-year-old Nikita Hering from Kenya stunned the audience after carting away the awards for Best Female Artiste in East Africa and Revelation of the African Continent award.
